The EU-funded project “Supporting prevention of corruption and investigation through civic engagement on a local level” (WikiInvestigation) invites active Ukrainians to participate in a focus group “"Public Opinion Survey on Understanding Corruption in Ukraine". Considering situation with the spread of COVID-19, the focus group will be held online.

To participate in the focus group, you need to answer questions of a survey.

The results of this survey will contribute to better understanding of how perception of corruption has changed in Ukraine in 2020.

“Do not miss the unique opportunity to express your opinion on the situation with corruption in Ukraine. Just 2 minutes 40 seconds of your time - and we will learn how the perception of corruption has changed over the past year. It will significantly help us to continue combating corruption”, said project director Liudmyla Ievsieienko.

In 2019, WikiInvestigation hold 13 focus groups in 4 Ukrainian cities (Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa and Chernivtsi).

The report on the results of the 2019 survey states that focus group participants from Odesa were more likely to face corruption in their personal or professional activities than participants from Kyiv, Chernivtsi and Kharkiv.

Answering the question "Can you imagine an ideal model for fighting corruption?" a significant number of respondents wrote that there is no such model. However, some participants mentioned that there are international anti-corruption practices that they believe are ideal models for fighting corruption. One of the participants mentioned the Singapore anti-corruption model.

Unfortunately, answering the question about the dynamics in the fight against corruption in various spheres in 2018, the vast majority of respondents answered that no changes were observed.

The question “Do you know what measures / projects / programs are carried out to combat corruption” showed that the answers of the focus group participants differed depending on the region. At the same time, a significant number of participants positively evaluated the work of the project "WikiInvestigation".

The focus group survey was conducted by the Innovation and Development Foundation - Ukraine within the framework of the EU-funded project “Supporting prevention of corruption and investigation through civic engagement on a local level” (WikiInvestigation).
