30.01.2020

Representatives of Innovation and Development Foundation Liudmyla Arakhamia and Roman Zhovnir participated in the discussion of the amendments to the Resolution No. 952 that establish the procedure of the competition rule in the election to the Public Council under the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption (NACP).

November 20, 2019, the head of NACP Oleksandr Novikov stated that the government adopted a Resolution on the procedure for establishing a Public Council under the NACP.

“This document is not perfect. In particular, it limits the number of persons who can participate in the competition. We ourselves initiate a question before the Government in order to increase participation in the competition for all public organizations working in the field of interests of the NACP. Our goal is to make this process as transparent and easy to understand as possible. This is evidenced by today's wide discussion of the project,”

Oleksandr Novikov

According to the deputy head of NACP Ivan Presniakov, the Cabinet of Ministers proposes to remove restrictions on participation in the competition for persons who are members of public councils, councils of public control under the law enforcement agencies and members of the Public Integrity Council.

The project also simplifies the submission of documents and ensures the transparency of admission of public associations and candidates to the competition.

According to the current version of the Law of Ukraine "On Prevention of Corruption”, the Public Council under the NACP will be engaged in the work of the competition and disciplinary commissions of the NACP, and in the development of documents of the NACP.

"We want these documents to be as rational as possible in order to increase the effectiveness of the National Agency`s to work"

Oleksandr Novikov
