"Every corruption whistleblower can visit free legal aid center to receive consultations, help with preparation of the necessary documents, legal representation in court and protection of his/hers rights,"

She also added that a whistleblower can involve his own lawyer to protect his/hers rights.

"The state is obliged to provide the whistleblower with refund of expenses for a lawyer and litigation fees. However, currently this procedure is not established and does not provide clear explanation about the amount of the expenses that should be compensated,"

She also stated that this is why the prior task is development of secondary legislation and all the necessary documentation required for the implementation of the amendments to the law on corruption whistleblowers.

The work on the implementation of the law is just beginning.

"The implementation path will be difficult, but important, because the successful implementation of the law on corruption whistleblowers will depend on the willingness to draft and adopt a bill on all whistleblowers who make different disclosures,"
